The belgian government is in The Daily WTF

Now I don’t know if I should feel proud or ashamed.
Apparently the little “slip” in calculating this years tax budget which I mentioned in an earlier post, did get noticed by The Daily WTF.

Kendo & Inline skating

Are the two things that filled my entire weekend.
Saturday morning I passed the Nikyu (2nd Kyu) exam in St-Niklaas.
Next up is Ikkyu (1st Kyu), and then on to Shodan (black belt).

The other thing that took up practically the entire day today was inline skating.
The annual “Jeneverfeesten” of Hasselt brought along a skate tour of 13km.
Afterwards there was an obstacle course, in which I succeeded in getting 2nd place, and winning myself a fine bottle of “Hasseltse Jenever”.
You had to carry 5 filled shot-glasses on a platter along an obstacle course. It came down to getting the most fluid to the finish.

And after this fun event, me and a bunch of freshly attained skate friends went to a small basketball ground for some slalom practice.
The pictures of this day are once again posted on Google’s WebAlbums.

Inline Skating: Endurance

Today, I went on a skate-tour across Limburg (a province of Belgium).
It was my first time doing a long distance (65 km) tour, and I have to admit I was kind of pessimistic about it at first.
However it was going pretty well, there were 6 other people that did this tour every week (if the weather allows it), and I could keep up with them.
We started at 11:45, and got back around 16:15.
It took a lot of effort out of me, and I’m dead tired right now. I think my right knee can agree on that :)
Couldn’t handle the strain probably, it got busted halfway but I managed to end it. No Pain, No Gain. Right?
We’ll see how it goes on the next Kendo practice on thursday.
Anyway, as usual I took some pictures, and you can watch them right here.
